Surat A-Zumar Ayah 53
قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
53. qul yaa ‘ibaadiyalladziina asrafuu ‘alaa angfusihim laa taqnathuu mir rahmatillaahi innallaaha yaghfiru dzdzunuuba jamii’an innahu huwalghafuururrahiimu.
Meaning (Translation)
1. Tafseer of jalalayn
(Say, "My servants who transgress their own limits, do not despair) can be read Laa Taqnithuu or Laa Taqnathuu, some of the qiraat experts read Laa Taqnuthuu, ie do not despair (from God's grace. Allah forgives the sins of all) to the one who repents of idolatry (He is the Forgiving, the Merciful).
2. Tafseer Quraish Shihab
Say, O Muhammad, by conveying the message of your Lord, "O my servants who do many immoral for themselves, do not despair of Allah's grace, Allah will forgive all sin, only He whose forgiveness and Mercy are very big.
